Yes, BUT, if you do this, always make sure the burnt ash level in the burnpot doesn't get too high, or it may miss the re-ignation.

can it turn itself on and off

Yes. If the temperature dial is turned down below the actual room temperature it will indeed turn off. It will then start back up when the ambient temp falls below the set point of the dial. This becomes a little confusing because the dial is represented in numbers instead of temperature. My husband ordered a thermostat adapter kit, and now we just set the wall thermostat wherever we want it. Also nice for setting a program to cool at night and warm up before getting up in the morning. I disliked the dial control from day one. Other than that the stove has been very reliable and efficient. Using a bag a day on average.

This DOES NOT have a true thermostat. It uses an ambient probe, which has extra wire and can be positioned elsewhere. If you set it to LO or HI, it will run continuously as long as there is fuel.
The dial control isn't exactly a thermostat as the numbers don't correspond to exact temperatures. It adjusts the burn rate based on the difference between the room temperature and the set point. 1-10 ranges from about 65-82 F on the low and high end. There are 5 different burn rates that it adjusts to based on the ambient probe and automatically goes into the highest burn rate if the temperature difference between room and set point is greater than 8 degrees F. The burn rate is signified by the LED flashing green pulses (1-5 times) while running, 1 being the lowest burn rate, and 5 the highest. When the room temperature is close to the set point, it burns at the lowest rate. When room temp reaches set point, it shuts down and amber LED blinks continuously, which signifies shutdown sequence, while the blowers blow until exhaust cools. After the blowers stop, the LED will then blink green continuously, which signifies it's off and ready to start. As the room cools, it restarts automatically.

I have ours set on 1 which is about 68 degrees. Of my house gets below that it will just automatically come on as long as it has pellets in it. It turns on and off just like a furnace.

This pellet stove features a thermostat which will put the stove in a "sleep" mode once the desired temperature is reached, but it can not turn itself on and off.

trim setting ?
Does the trim setting causes a missed ignition ? What does the trim do actually ?
What's a standard trim setting ? There's isn't a trim table setting in the book...Should it be on the + plus ?
If left at zero does that mean its off ?-
CEM3· 6 years ago
The trim sets the amount of air that goes into the burn box .Helps the pellets burn better. I'm running mine on -3 now it can change with the pellets you burn. the better they burn the cleaner the glass. You just have to spend a little time to find the best burn rate for the pellets you have one click at a time. I turned mine to plus 4 and worked back from there. In the manual one click 15 minutes too see how they burn.. Go on pelpro web site they have a full manual for down load.

The trim dial adjusts the air/fuel ratio. Turning the dial counterclockwise, that will reduce the airflow. Turning the dial clockwise, that will increase the airflow. Only adjust one level at a time and allow 15 minutes for stabilization before making another adjustment. The 0 is the standard, balanced setting.

There are several parts that need cleaning on this item. The fire pot should be cleaned daily or after every 3 bags of fuel. The ash should be removed depending on buildup which typically should take a week or 5 bags of fuel. The glass is recommended to be cleaned weekly. The hopper, exhaust path, drop tube, baffles, door handle/gasket and the convection blowers are recommended to be cleaned after 25 bags or monthly. The exhaust blower, firebox, and venting system should be cleaned yearly at the end of the season.

does the auger feed pellets to the top or to the bottom of the firebox? and what is auger diameter?
-
HotRod67· 6 years ago
The auger runs from the rear of the pellet hopper to a feed tube and drops the pellets above the fire and into the center of the fire pan. Works well and keeps the auger away from the source of heat.
