On The Go Portable Water Deionizer For a Spot-Free Rinse Tired of water spots on your vehicle after a car wash? Northern Tool + Equipment in collaboration with On The Go, an American Business, has developed a portable deionization unit to provide laboratory grade deionized water for spot-free water. These portable deionizers attach to your home water supply or in conjunction with a pressure washer using garden hose fittings. The unit removes the total dissolved solids (TDS)/minerals as the water passes through the resin, leaving a spot-free rinse. The deionizers filter approx. 560 gallons of water at 200 PPM TDS before the resin needs replaced. Each unit comes with a built in bypass, which allows you to first wash with standard unfiltered water and then switch to deionized water for your final rinse. This feature ensures optimal life of the resin. The portable deionizer from Northern Tool + Equipment has a max flow rate of 3 GPM, and comes filled with resin, one TDS meter, brass in and out fittings, and one 4” white hose.

    1. If it is being used as a rinse, you would change the resin at 20 TPS. If it is being used in manufacturing, it can vary, it would be changed when it no longer meets your need.

    1. Water deionization is a water purification process that will remove two types of ions. These are positively charged cations and negatively charged anions. Cations include such minerals as calcium, magnesium, iron and sodium. Anions include chloride, sulfates, nitrates, carbonates and silica.
