Product Summary

Tired of water spots on freshly washed vehicles? Northern Tool + Equipment in collaboration with On the Go, an American business, has developed a deionization unit to provide laboratory grade deionized water for spot-free water. This unit stands 48” high by 9” in diameter and it works well with pressure washers to make the maximum use of your time while washing and rinsing cars/RVs/boats/solar panels, etc. No need to towel dry as this deionizer unit provides a spot-free rinse by removing the total dissolved solids (TDS)/minerals as the water passes through the resin. This single-tank business unit is easy to mount in an enclosed van, shop floor, or leave it in the garage to fill your holding tank. Each unit comes filled with 1.0 cu ft of virgin (non-regenerated) resin producing around 5 Meg water. The bypass head makes it easy to switch from non-deionized water to deionized water for a spot-free finish. Also Included with the unit is a 4’ pressure hose, a hand-held TDS meter, and brass cap/plug for the inlet/outlet. The mixed-bed resin shipped in the tank will rinse approximately 162 cars or 27 Class A RVs. This is based on TDS of 250 ppm of the source water and using 5 gallons to rinse a car, 30 gallons to rinse an RV.

  1. How do you recharge the tank and roughly how many gallons of water does it process per tank?

    1 answer

    1. Regeneration instructions are included with the tank or can be found online with the manufacturer. The regeneration process will require non iodized salt and Super Iron out to be flushed through the unit. Do not remove the resin from the tank. How many gallons a softener will approximately make depends on the hardness of the water source and your water usage. To figure out the approximate capacity of your unit, take the grains of the unit (Standard 8,000/Double 16,000) and divide that by the grains per gallon (GPG) of the water source.
