    Does this unit hold water without a separate tank? I noticed the pictures showed the unit in a truck bed without an extra water tank.

    1. needs a water tank. 200 gal min.

    2. The unit will need a water supply. It does not have a holding tank. It does run water through the heater tank to heat the water.

  2. Well, this unit fit in the back of a pick up truck

    1. This pressure washer measures 45.5" long x 54.25" wide x 46.25" high. It can fit in the bed of a pickup truck, but it’s recommended to measure your vehicle first to ensure a proper fit.

  3. Is electric start available?

    1. At this time, electric start is not available for this pressure washer. Modifying the unit to accommodate electric start will void the warranty.

  4. Does thus skid have a wetstream or can is there a way to hook a steam attachment to it

    1. This product was not designed to produce steam or have a steam attachment added. Wet steam requires a minimum of 250 degrees F. This machine produces a maximum water temperature of 200 degrees F.

  5. Does it have to have a tank or can you use a water hose. Also can you use the hot water system with a surface cleaner?

    1. Water must be supplied to the pressure washer by an external water tank which is provided by the user. The tank needs to be 200 gallons or larger. It is best to check the maximum rated temperature of the surface cleaner prior to use with this machine.

  6. Does this machine suck water itself or does it require a pump from tank to machine?

    1. The water supply is gravity tank fed. The water tank is not included. A 200 gallon tank or larger is recommended. Make sure the supply water flow rate is always 20% higher than the pressure washers flow rate. The flow rate must be at least 8.4 gallons per minute. The water will also need to be clean and particle free. The line from the tank to the pump should not exceed 6 feet. The recommended hose diameter of 3/4".

    1. The NorthStar 2-gun Hot Water Pressure Washer Skid features a max output water temperature of 200 degrees Fahrenheit.

  8. will using 1 gun damage the unit or set off the pressure relief

    1. The unit can be used with one gun or both. If using one gun you need to be sure to use a #7 nozzle to ensure the rated flow and psi are achieved. When using both guns you will use a #3.5 nozzle on each gun. These instructions can be found on pages 22 and 23 of the product manual.

  9. Smaller engine/less gpm.

    I was interested in this unit, but was wondering if you have a 18 or 20 hp set up. Looking for the same style skid that will be better on fuel and will be around 4to5 gpm.

    1. This skid style pressure washer is the only unit available with 2 guns. Click the links below to view two other skid style units rated at 18hp, one has a Honda gas engine and the other has a Kohler diesel engine.

  10. Can the unit be plumbed back into the water tank, to avoid damage during the times of gun trigger not pulled?

    1. This pressure washer skid includes a safety relief valve and instructions in the manual for connection of a return line to the tank. A return line to the tank is required.
