Product Summary

Small utility trailer doubles as an ATV trailer and allows trailers to carry long loads. Has a 50 1/2in. x 75in. mesh floor deck size (angled sides accommodate ATV/UTVs up to 81in.L) and black powder-coat finish. Assembly required. Certificate of origin will arrive separately. Please allow approx. 2 weeks for processing. The spare tire bracket is welded on the bottom of the trailer to allow room on the top of the tongue for a gas can and jack.

  1. Can the rear gate be removed?

    1. It is very simple to remove the tail gate. All you have to do is remove the cotter pins (one on each side) and remove the hinge pins.

    2. Quite easily. One pulls the cotter keys from the mounting pins and slides out the pins and the gate is free.

    4. This trailer comes in a kit, you can either bolt on the gate or leave it off.

  2. For Item #125956, how much assembly is required?

    1. The trailer comes packed in a large cardboard box which is about eight or nine inches thick. It is completely disassembled. It is kind of like putting a large puzzle together. I actually enjoyed putting it together. All you need is common sense and a few tools.

    2. Actually, quire a lot. The only thing pre-assembled is the frame, and all the rails, the tongue, the axle and wheels have to be assembled. It took me at least eight hours to put it together properly, and I'm a retired professional in the trucking and heavy equipment industry. Plus, I have a lot of tools, a shop crane, etc. to make it easier to move heavy parts. That said, nearly anyone, if they are careful, can properly assemble it, and properly put together, it's a strong, well-made trailer.

    3. The North Star trailer is a kit, and would have to be put together. The bed and the gate are each one piece, and would need to be attached.

  3. Does the rear gate fold down to the deck floor to allow long cargo?

    1. The rear gate folds forward on to the trailer floor. I would recommend that you put some sort of padding (like a towell or large sponge) to keep it from rattling and to protect the paint.

    2. It does, but has no stops to hold it level with floor, so it drops clear to the ground. As I felt it needed safety chains to prevent the gate from dropping in the event the latches came undone on the highway, I rigged up a pair, and also set them up where they hold the gate level with the floor when needed, so I can haul long objects.

    3. Yes it will fold down to the deck to allow long cargo. You can also remove the pins for the gate to completely remove it.

  4. Where can I find parts for this trailer? Need to replace the rear gate.

  5. Where do i find replacement hubs and bearings ???

    The hubs are shorter then most and the bearings seem to be metric. They are not 1 in like most small trailers, bearings for 1 in. spindles are way to loose on spindle...

  6. what size is the expanded metal on floor and ramp?

    1. The floor and ramp metal thickness is 2.5 mm. The dimensions of the holes for the mesh decking are 3" x 2.5".

    1. Northern tool does not recommend using any tires other than the ones that comes with the kit. Northern does offer exact replacement tires. See below.
