Product Summary

The Mr. Heater Reconditioned Big Maxx Natural Gas Garage/Workshop Heater is quiet and vented for easily heating a 2- to 3-car garage. The low-profile design requires only 1in. clearance from ceiling. Includes LP conversion kit for easy changeover. Two angle brackets allow for positioning heater up and out of the way. Power exhaust allows for vertical or horizontal venting (horizontal venting kit, Item# 29794, and vertical venting kit sold separately). This unit is designed for right or left side piping, electrical and flue connections by simply rotating 180°. Tubular heat exchanger and spark ignition draw 3 Amps. Note: Due to BTU loss through exhaust gases, heater runs at approx. 81% operating efficiency. Check local codes and ordinances for approved installation and usage. See product manual for venting and electrical supply requirements (thermostat sold separately, Item# 173641).

  5. Can I use this heater with 20lb propane tank. I only need it for occasional use.

    1. A 100 pound tank or larger is recommended. A smaller tank can be used as long as it is able to maintain a line pressure of 13” water column. A low pressure two stage regulator like item 25819 shown below is required.
