  2. If I have a 110 volt power source will this opener work without batteries? So does it come with a 24volt transformer?

    1. The gate opener is designed to work off of a 12 volt battery. The 120 volt AC power is used to charge the battery. If AC power is not available, a solar panel item number 501726 can be purchased separately. The gate opener does not come with a 24 volt transformer.

  3. What are the differences between the Mighty Mule Medium Duty single gate opener (MM371) and the Heavy duty one (MM571), besides the ability to hold a heavier gate? Is the motor on the heavy duty more powerful? I couldn't find any info on this.

    1. Item #89693 (MM571W) is designed to operate a gate up to 18’ long or 850 lbs., the motor is larger and a battery is included. Item #89691 (MM371W) works on gates up to 16' long or 550 lbs., a battery is not included.

  4. Can this opener be used as a replacement for the mm500,as far as dimensions ? Does this opener have hardwired transformer for 12 volt batteries and capable of holding two in control box?

    1. This gate opener will work as a replacement for the MM500. It would have a hardwired transformer for the 12 volt batteries and is capable of holding two in the control box.

    How secure is it? can it be pushed open?

    1. The gate opener would be secure. The only way it can be pushed to open would be with the purchase of a push to open bracket, item #34694, would be installed on it.
