This Metaltech Single-Lift Scaffold Set provides everything needed to frame a scaffold, including two 60in. x 60in. Blue powder-coated anti-slip steel scaffold frames (each with coupling pin and springs), and two 7ft. x 4ft. galvanized steel cross braces. These products meet all OSHA, ANSI and CSA requirements. Metaltech's exterior scaffolding systems and accessories are built to make your work easier and safer. Safety is the key when working with heights.   1. How are the cross braces secured to the pins on the frame?

    1. The braces are secured to each scaffold using a standard swivel pin. The swivel pin prevents the crossbars from coming out until you manually move them. It's the same sort of swivel pin as the units I've rented.

    2. These are the so-called "t-locks". There is a little sloped piece of metal that falls down due to gravity. It allows you to push the brace on, but then you have to pinch the "t" up to get it off. While other types tend to be more "positive" in locking, I do prefer these because you can snap then in place from a distance, without having to reach to the pin. just inspect them every day to make sure that the t's are not stuck in the up position.

    3. The pin has a drop lock which is a little swinging pin that drops when you slide the cross brace onto the pin and prevents the cross brace from sliding off the pin.

    4. The cross braces come with pins and locks that are set into the frame.

    1. Yes. The scaffolding set comes with coupling pins already inserted at the top of each section of scaffolding. However, you'll likely want to purchase a base too (base plate, lockable wheels, or leveling jacks).

    1. The frames are definitely stackable, although you'll have to purchase base plates or leveling jacks separately.

    2. Yes. They're very easy to stack. All you need to purchase in order to stack them are some of the Metaltech Pig Tail Locking Devices... 4 per level.

  4. Area the coupling pins include with scaffold set

    If I purchase 5 of these scaffold sets are the coupling pins included with the scaffolds. I there any other item I will need to assemble the sets? I want the sets ready to use upon delivery.

    1. Coupling pins come already inserted at the top of each set upon delivery. I'd recommend buying either a set of base plates, lockable wheels, or leveling jacks too, depending on your application.

  6. does this stack on 5 X 5 biljax?

    1. I used this in conjunction with Biljax scaffolding. I could stack them vertically in towers, but pin orientation was different (not sure on specifc biljax sizing) and could not be tied horizontally....

    2. This scaffolding set will stack on a Biljax 5' wide frame model. Biljax does make both 4' and 27 3/4" brace pin spacing. If yours is the 27 3/4" you will need to separate your braces.

  7. How long of a platform will the crossbars allow, or are there different sizes of crossbars for different sized platforms?

    1. This comes with "7 ft x 4ft" cross braces (meaning the pin spacing on the frames is 4 ft, and the distance between frames is 7 ft (CTC). Also available are "4 ft x 10ft" cross braces if you wish to span a longer distance (but you'll then also need 10 ft platforms, and 10 ft guardrails, etc).

    2. This scaffold set has cross braces to make a 7 foot long scaffolding. There is a optional cross brace to make it 10 feet long. (see below)

    1. The O.D. is 1.625" and the wall thickness is13 gauge or 0.095".

  9. Are the Adjustable Leveling Jacks

    Are the adjustable-Leveling Jacks compatible with scaffolding# 405930,OR 405931, OR AT THE BOTTOM OF 405952,OR 405941-2206

    1. Don't know. I used the mini-scaffold and it comes only with casters.

    2. The adjustable leveling jacks will not work with any baker style scaffolding. However, the jacks will work with the Metaltech frame sections (item #405941).

  10. How many sections can be stacked?

    1. Three sections are pretty easy to stack, as long as they are stacked on a stable surface. If you're going to be stacking 3 or more units, I'd recommend purchasing a set of outriggers that can be used to stabilize the set. Screw jacks are also great if you are going to be working with an uneven base like I always seem to have outside next to my house.

    2. The Metaltech Single Lift can be stacked as high as you want to go. Once they are stacked you will need the diagonal and the outriggers. If you reach 15 feet or higher you will also need the wall anchoring that should be placed every 15 feet.
