The METALpro Ironworker MP4000 is a 40-ton ironworker, powered by a 110V, single phase standard wall outlet or generator. Its compact, sturdy design boasts 40 tons of pressure at the punch station and 20 tons of pressure at the central workstation. This allows the user to punch a 1in. round hole through 3/8in. mild steel (capable of larger holes through thinner mild steel). METALpro's footswitch design controls a hydraulic power system. This machine comes standard equipped with METALpro's punch station, ready to accept any size punch and die set or accessory to fit your needs. With an open central workstation this gives users the options to pick between any one of METALpro's 3in.-1 shears (6in., 8in., 12in.) or brakes (8in. or 12in.). METALpro stands behind their machines with a one-year limited manufacturing warranty.

  2. Can I get 1.75 1.875 and 2 inch pipe notch dies also what thickness can it notch

    1. The pipe notch dies are not available in a 1.75" or 1.875". A 2" pipe notcher would be part number MSMP4156. You would also need the pipe notcher housing for the 2", part number MSMP4150. The thickness it can notch is schedule 40. You would contact the parts department at 1.800.657.0516 to order these parts.

  7. Can you cut threaded rod with this machine?

    1. This Metalpro Ironworker is not designed to shear threaded rod. Damage will occur to the threads on the rod when this press is used.

  8. is this machine capable of bending 4"x 1/2" steel flat stock to a 90°, if not do you have one that is capable.

    1. At this time Northern Tool does not carry a brake that will bend 1/2" x 4" flat stock.

  9. Wondering if this machine can be used to shear and punch sheet metal?. Also what is maximum width of shear throat?

    1. This Metal Pro Ironworker is recommended for Mild Steel, Copper, Brass, Aluminum, Cold Drawn Steel, and 302/303 Stainless Steel. The throat depth is 3 ¾.
      Punches 1 inch diameter round hole in 3/8 in. mild steel only.
      Shearing capacity only in mild steel: flat bar 3/8 inches x 4 inches or 1/4 inches x 6 inch round rod – 3/4 inch angle – 1/4 inches x 3 inches x 3 inch.
