Product Summary

Installs into flue of your gas heater. Magic Heat™ Reclaimer consists of 10 heat-exchanger tubes and a thermostatically controlled fan to blow warmed air into the room. Turns on at 150°F and off at 110°F. 115 Volts. Produces 225 CFM and 8000 to 30,000 BTU. Peak performance is maintained by the use of Flue Stove Pipe cleaner (our Item# 172801). 18 1/4in.H x 10 5/8in.W x 14 1/4in.D. Please measure flue before ordering. U.S.A.

  1. Will it work with an electric dryer?

    1. Not llikely, I moved one off a boiler that went defunct onto a hot water heater and it never gets warm enough to kick on. Dryers hot exhaust is much cooler than a hot water heaters, so it's doubtful it will work. It does work great on wood burning stoves and large biolers. I have one on my wood burning stove and ducted the output to the upstairs and it works great1

  3. Why couldn't I use this on a wood burning stove?

    1. This item was only designed by the manufacturer to work on a gas stove. We do offer one that is made for a wood burning stove and it is listed below.

  4. How loud is the fan while it is running?

    1. The manufacturer(NELSON PRODUCTS CO) does not list a decibel rating for this unit. They state that while the fan is running, the sound is noticeable, but not very loud.

  5. Will magic heat work on a double pipe?

    I have a dutchwest consolidated stove. It has a double stove pipe with inner diameter of 6 inches. Will the magic heater work on this type of stove pipe. Could I place it on the interior pipe?

  7. will this work on my 4in flue

    I am interested in this reclaimer. My flue is 4" , the skin temp is about 200 degrees and inside temp is 270 degrees. Can I use an adapater to use this reclaimer? I was thinking I could increase the size from the heater to 6" then reduce it back after the reclaimer going into the chimeny. Is this safe? Thanks for your help.

    1. The manufacturer of this item recommends that it only be used on 6" flue pipe.

  8. Can this work on a LP gas furnace with a power vent

    1. This item is not intended to be used on a propane appliance or in a power vent situation. Installation of this unit in these circumstances could negatively affect the drafting performance of the appliance.

  9. Can this unit be installed in my attic on my central gas heater flue?

    Could I duct the heated air a short distance (approx. 15 - 18ft) to my garage? Would the unit warm the cold air from the attic?

    1. This Magic Heat Reclaimer does not create heat. This would capture heat that would normally escape during the venting process. This is meant to be installed 18 inches away from the heater.
