Product Summary

The HY-C Magic Heat Bottom Crimp Heat Reclaimer for Wood Burning Appliances reclaims up to 30% of lost heat from your heating appliance and distributes it into your home using only 0.31 amp of power, roughly equivalent to a 40 Watt light bulb. Magic Heat is designed for heating appliances with inside flue temperatures exceeding 350°F and surface temperatures of the single wall pipe below the Magic Heat exceeding 280°F. The bottom crimp design makes this unit ideal for wood burning heating applications by containing any creosote within the chimney. A toggle switch allows the 225 CFM fan to operate in 2 modes, either run continuously or a via a pre-set thermostat that automatically turns the blower fan on when the Magic Heat casing reaches 150°F and off at 120°F. This unit is easy to install and must be installed between 12 and 24in. from the appliance flue outlet using a single wall connector pipe.

  1. If there is sufficient room, am I able to install more than one in series on the flue?

    1. It is not recommended to add more than one heat reclaimer on the flu. To do so could cause drafting issues or creosote problems.

    1. The internal steel tubes are not ceramic coated.

  3. can you use dimmer switch

    1. A dimmer switch is not recommended for this model. A toggle switch would be used for the reclaimer. It would be best to reach an installer or licensed electrician for options on assembly.

  4. Is there anyway this will or can somehow put out extra heat even if there is no power?

    1. There is no way for the heat reclaimer to put out more heat.

    1. Per the manufacturer, this can be used on a wood burning stove with an existing blower. However, they do recommend contacting the manufacturer of the stove to see if they would recommend it.

  8. I am going from wood to a Empire 65K BTU visual flame LP heater. The book says it is approx 70% efficient. Can I install a reclaimer on this LP heater thereby increasing the efficiency?

    1. This Heat Reclaimer can be installed on wood, coal, gas, and waste oil stoves with a 6" flue.
