Product Summary

The HY-C Magic Heat Bottom Crimp Heat Reclaimer for Wood Burning Appliances reclaims up to 30% of lost heat from your heating appliance and distributes it into your home using only 0.31 amp of power, roughly equivalent to a 40 Watt light bulb. Magic Heat is designed for heating appliances with inside flue temperatures exceeding 350° and surface temperatures of the single wall pipe below the Magic Heat exceeding 280°. The bottom crimp design makes this unit ideal for wood burning heating applications by containing any creosote within the chimney. A toggle switch allows the 225 CFM fan to operate in 2 modes, either run continuously or a via a pre-set thermostat that automatically turns the blower fan on when the Magic Heat casing reaches 150° and off at 120°. This unit is easy to install and must be installed between 12 and 24in. from the appliance flue outlet using a single wall connector pipe.

    1. A "bottom crimp" on a stove pipe refers to the crimped or slightly compressed edge on the end of a stove pipe section, which is considered the male end and should always be positioned downwards, pointing towards the stove, when connecting to another pipe section.

  3. Can I run single wall pipe out of the wood stove into the exchanger then double wall pipe to the ceiling?

    1. It is best to run a single wall below the unit from the stove. A single wall should be used above and adapted to a double wall before the ceiling line.
