The inverter-based system offers increased power output from a smaller transformer, resulting in a super lightweight system that weighs up to 50% less than comparably powered traditional models. The MIG 140SI offers ultimate welding control with an amperage output range of 30–140 that can handle mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum.

  1. do i need to buy a seperate gun for aluminum

    1. You will need the spool gun plus the right gas mix. Small mig Aluminum will not feed well in a normal gun. Will kink and bird nest all the time.

    2. The Klutch Reconditioned MIG 140SI Inverter-Powered Wire-Feed MIG Welder does not require a separate spoolgun to weld aluminum. However, the optional Quick-Draw 150 Spoolgun (item # 44453) is recommended for smooth and trouble-free feeding of aluminum wire.
