The Klutch® 150 Spool Gun Kit is specially designed for MIG welding aluminum on Klutch Welder models MP140Si (Item# 62502) and MP251SiLCD (Item# 96578), both sold separately. Holds a 4in. dia. spool of wire right on the gun, reducing travel distance of the wire and providing smooth and trouble-free feeding.

  1. wire feed question

    does this spool gun have its own wire feed control?
    what controls the wire speed with this spool gun?

    1. No. The WF is controlled on you welder panel. I found that I had to set the WF on the welder at least 50% higher to get the same speed as the internal MIG wire feed.

    2. The spool gun does have its own wire feed control. You would switch your welder over to the spool gun and would still make your settings on the welder itself as far as speed control.

    1. This spool gun does not have its own speed control. The wire feed speed will be controlled from the welder.

    1. This spool gun is specifically designed for use with the Klutch welder models MP140Si (Item# 62502) and MP251SiLCD (Item# 96578). The Tweco spool gun part #1027-1397, is designed for the ESAB Rogue EM 140 MIG Welder. We do not offer that part at this time.

  6. Does the 230SiDV welder auto-programs recognize this gun for MIG Steel and Stainless, or only when welding MIG aluminum? MIG Steel/Stainless screens do not have spool gun yes/no options like aluminum option.

    1. This spool gun kit works with the MP140Si (Item# 62502) and MP251SiLCD (Item# 96578) welder models. The MP230SiDV welder already includes a MIG torch and spool gun. To weld aluminum, the spool gun is used. To weld steel and stainless steel, the DC TIG feature is used.

  9. What are the connector pin definitions and function and the drive motor power? In other words; which pins are for the trigger and which are for the drive motor power and what is the voltage range for the drive motor and is it AC or DC or universal?

    1. Pin 1 is a dead pin. Pins 2 and 3 are for the trigger and pins 4 and 5 are for the motor. This has a 24V DC motor which ranges from 2V to 24V.

  10. Will this gun work on any other brands of welders, namely Lincoln?

    1. This spool gun kit only works with Klutch brand welders. Northern Tool has item #62502 for model MP140Si as a compatible welder with the spool gun kit.
