  2. Can this be ran with a generator and if so what wattage would be recommended?

    1. This welder can be powered by a generator. The generator should provide at least 8,000 continuous watts, although a higher-output generator is recommended for the best performance.

    1. This is strictly a DC TIG unit and can only be used with the foot pedal.

  6. Where can I buy a liner for the mig gun? Is it interchangeable with another mig welder liner?

      We cannot guarantee that the liner is interchangeable with another welder.

  7. How does it set up to mig weld set up

    1. The MIG function can be selected by using the multi-function adjusting knob. Press to confirm the selection.

      In MIG mode, you can adjust the wire-feed speed and voltage. Turn the multi-function knob to set inductance, and press it to access basic settings.

      Note 1: Basic settings include gas pre-flow, slow wire feed, gas post-flow, operating mode, load/save functions, and the spool-gun option under ALL-welding mode.

      Note 2: Values shown in the green range for current and voltage are the recommended parameters.

  8. What is the maximum thickness of steel that can be welded with the mig and the stick? What is the maximum thickness of aluminum that can be welded with the spool gun?

    1. The maximum welding thickness for steel, stainless steel, iron and aluminum is 10mm. The welding thickness when welding MIG vs stick is going to depend on the electrode type. The maximum thickness of aluminum that can be welded with the spool gun is also 10mm.

  9. What all is needed to do all types of welding?

    1. This multi-process welder requires gas for MIG and TIG welding. Gas may be required depending on the type of flux-core wire being used. The user will also need to supply the wire for welding.

  10. What’s the difference between a MP 230 and an MP 230 with SIDV

    1. This item is rated for 240 amp and the MP 230 SIDV is rated for 200 amp. Other than that, the machines are virtually the same.
