  1. will it fit through a 24" square opening? Looking to agitate a 65,000-gallon tank.

    1. The pond aerator would not fit through a 24" square opening. The float is 32 1/2" long for it.

  3. I do not have electricity available at this site. Will a generator work as the power source?

    1. The Kasco Pond Aerator is capable of running off of a generator that can produce 2,000 watts or more of power.

  4. Cost to run pre day

    Is there any info of the cost to run this pump pre day .

    1. The Kasco Pond Aerator would draw 600 running watts and the cost could be calculated by knowing your local cost of electricity as rates do vary.

  5. In a very cold area, Vermont, do you have to remove it or run it

    1. You will need to remove this aerator during the winter months. It will damage the unit.

  6. At 350 feet is 10 guage wire large enough?

    I have a 350 foot 10 guage wire running from my house to my pond in the back yard. Would this be a large enough guage to safely run either a 110 or 240 aerator? I would prefer the 240 volt model just because it would be less expensive to run. I have rainbow trout in the pond and am hoping that an aerator will clear up the water (it's cloudy). Please give me your opinion on the matter as I have no experience with pond aerators.

    1. The 1/2 HP Kasco pond aerator is only tested up to 200 feet with 120 volt usage. They do not recommend more distance than the 200 feet. The 3/4 HP pond aerator can be used with 240 volts at up to 500 feet with a 10 gauge wire.

  7. this said pond size 1/2 acre. is this for oxygen only or would that apply to keeping a pond from freezing too?

    I would like to get something like this to keep water from freezing. How would this unit work for that? If it would work how much water would it keep open? We have a propeler style pump that we use and that keeps a circle of about 40 ft open. Wondering if this would do the same?

    1. The pond aerators are a top aerator only and will not work to keep a pond from freezing.

  8. Control Box?

    The product description states that the "control box" is not included. What is the control box, and do I need it? If so, how much $ is it?

    1. The control box is not required to operate the fountain. If you do not purchase the control box then you just need to be sure you plug the system in to a GFCI outlet. The control box features a 24-hour timer, GFCI protection, and a photoelectric controlled outlet. The item # is 1087042. Please call us @ 1-800-221-0516 for price and availability.

  9. How many cubic feet of air per hour does this unit pump?

    1. I spoke with the manufacturer (Kasko) on this 1/2 horse power pond aerator and the measurement of cubic feet of air is not supplied, however, it does produce approximately 1.5 pounds of air per hour.
