  1. How long of a run?

    In lieu of running electrical 200 feet, can I extend the air hose to 200 feet, underground and keep the pump inside a poleshed? How far can the pump, pump the air?

    1. We have a similar pump. I think you can run the airline 200' without too much trouble - just use the larger 1/2" or 5/8" tubing instead of the smaller 3/8". About 300' is about as far as I would go with the total combined airline.

    2. Yes, the air hose can be extended to 200 feet. Whether it is underground or above ground would not matter. It will have no problem to pump air 200 feet.

  2. Is this big enough for my pond?

    my pond is roughly 50 foot X 70 foot and 15 feet deep. would this unit be large enough to aerate/clean up my pond?

    1. I think the unit is large enough regarding the size, but it has a maximum depth rating of 8'. You probably need to go with a different type of compressor - something closer to a rocking piston vs. this one.

    2. This unit is designed to work on a pond that is 1/4 to 3/4 acres and cannot be used any deeper than 8 feet deep.

  3. Can I use this for a 3000 gallon water storage tank?

    1. The pump kit will work in a water storage tank with a depth of up to 8 feet.

  4. Does this need to be sheltered or can it be left out in the weather

    1. This Aerator is weather resistant; however, we advise to shelter the unit from rain, snow, sleet, etc. as direct contact with the elements will shorten the life span of the unit.

  5. Can I use an electrical cord?

    1. The diaphragm pump kit includes a 6 foot electrical cord. It is not recommended that an extension cord be added.

  6. is there a check valve included? and what are the diffuser dimensions? thanks

    1. This compressor does not contain an internal check valve. The diffusers measure 7” across by 1.5” tall. They do have an external check valve that comes with the system to prevent water from backing up in the airline.

  7. how many hours a day should the pump be run?

    1. The manufacturer recommends turning your electric aerator on for a few hours the first day, then increasing the time by a couple of hours each day until it is running continuously.

    1. The manufacturer has not rated this pump for decibels which would be the way to check the noise level.

  9. Will it work on 15ft deep small 1/4 acre pond?

    Staff member answered that this would work on a 1/3 acre 20ft deep pond. I have a similar size pond and want to make sure before I purchase.

    1. This unit will work on ponds up to 3/4 acres so a 1/4 acre pond is well within the units capabilities.

  10. Can this unit feed multiple air lines and stones?

    Looking to place lines in 3 areas in shallow pond.

    1. This product is designed for use only with the lines and stone included. Item 30123 still is only recommended for use with 2 lines but it does offer a feature with 2 stone diffusers rather than the 1 included. Please view my recommendation below to item 30123.
