This JRCO Electric Broadcast Spreader attaches to the 1 1/4in. hitch mount on the front or rear of your utility vehicle using mount bars (Item#s 51572 or 51573, sold separately) to increase productivity with an accurate spread pattern at higher ground speeds. Utility vehicles with a 2in. hitch mount will require an adapter (Item# 51574, sold separately).

  1. can this be controlled from inside the cab of a utv

    1. Yes. You turn on the spreader speed control and it runs continuously. Then you mount the shudder door push/pull handle in your cab. I went around the side of the UTV and mounted the control on the headliner in the location that a rear view mirror would be in a car. Works great and is removable when not in use.

  2. Can you spread herbicide with this

    1. This unit can be used to spread all types of Fertilizer, seed, fire ant bait, and ice melting or lime pellets.

  3. Why can't this open- close function also be controlled by an electric solenoid? By the time I get back in the cab, I've dropped a pound of fertilizer on the ground and killed my grass!

    1. The manufacturer does not offer this as an option for the spreader. It has not been tested on the spreader. It is only available with a push pull cable.

  4. Does this unit have a elec. control for opening or closing the amount of seed/fertlizer that comes out of the hopper or does the setting have to be manually?

    1. The spreader will come with an electronic speed control. The opening and gauge control is manual.

  5. Does the unit have an agitator that is connected to spinner to remove fertilizer and/or wheat/oats seed to have a completely clean empty container when done spreading material? Does the unit come with a connection to open and close bottom opening in cab?

    1. This is equipped with an agitator. There is a control cable and extension cable to control the gate opening from the seat of your utility vehicle. This is shown in the first thumbnail image.

    1. The spreader would have a speed control that adjusts or calibrates the spread from 5-24 feet.

  7. I am wanting to attach to the front of a Kubota RTV. I understand that that I need to switch it from 1.25" to 2" but is not clear how you mount the spreader to the receiver hitch. Does it have an adapter with it? Shows the hardware to mount to mowers,

    1. A 2" to 1.25" receiver adapter is not included. Please view item 32800 for a 2" to 1.25" adapter. The adapter requires 1/2" and 5/8" pins (not included) to attach to the spreader hitch and the vehicle's receiver hitch.

  8. So how does this unit mount to an ATV in the front ?

    It looks like a mounting bar that mounts to a receiver hitch and a poly deflector to keep fertilizer off of the ATV is used in a picture ? Does this stuff come with the spreader...? It does not mention it at all. ????

    1. The spreader will attach to a 1-1/4" hitch mount on the front of the ATV using the appropriate mounting extension. The long extension is item 51572 and the short extension is item 51573. If the ATV used has a 2" hitch mount, the adapter, item 51574 is required. The mounting plate will keep some of the spreadable material away from the ATV as it is being spread; however, there is an optional deflector kit available, item 51576.

    1. This unit will spread lime in pellet form.

  10. Does this spreader have gate settings and a chart with ground speeds so an operator can determine how much fertilizer is being applied to the acre?

    Basically are there calibration settings with ground speeds to calculate application rates to the acre. Say if I want to put 100 pounds of fertilizer to the acre, can this be determined with a chart for this spreader. Does it have that ?
