  1. Does it come with a shoulder strap to carry it while broadcasting? If so, how long is it?

    1. Yes, it has a strap that goes around your neck. It's plenty long. We had to take it up a lot to get it short enough for me. I am 5'-9".

    2. The strap loops over one shoulder and then under the opposite arm. I'm 5'7 and there was plenty of extra adjustment available. my guess is it would fit up to a 6 and a half footer.

    4. The Solo Chest Mount Spreader comes with an adjustable strap that can be attached to the spreader to run diagonally across your back either left to right or right to left and is long enough to fit anyone.

  2. Can this model be used to spread light fluffy seeds like native grasses and if not do you carry a model that can?

    1. I used it on fine hulled Bermuda and it worked great. It works great on fescue seed too. It doesn't have a wire agitator - only a spinning hexagon so I don't know if light fuffy seed would plug up or not. It's a great seeder and built well.

  3. how does it "mount" to the chest?

    1. There is a strap that hooks on the top and simply goes around your neck. One issue you have to watch is the steel s-hook can come off if you don't keep the weight hanging on the strap which could cause you to drop the seeded. My wife was sitting on back of an RTV with the seeder in her lap and the strap came off. But once you realize it, it is not a problem to watch it and hook it so that gravity won't dislodge it when the strap is loose.

    2. These are the instructions to mount to your chest.
      • Stand the spreader upright at about waist level on a table, bench or stand.
      • Adjust the strap to longest reach.
      • Attach the strap hook to the top right eye on the hopper (as viewed from operator’s position).
      • With the back of the spreader facing your chest, slip the strap over your right shoulder and across your back.
      • Set strap hook under spreader housing.
      • With the spreader fitted, crank the handle and determine if the spreader is set at a comfortable height. Remove the spreader, adjust the strap and try again until you are
      comfortable with fit and function.

  4. will it spread salt?

    1. I have not tried it but expect it would assuming salt was dry. Nothing without a drag chain will spread wet salt.

    2. This Solo Spreader will spread material the size of rice. If the salt that you are using is the size of rice or smaller then it would work.

  5. Is this spreader designed to allow for spreading pellitized lime? I have used push spreders that are not able to hold up to the hard pellets.

    1. This will work for lime pellets that are no larger than a grain of rice.
