    3. Yes. The nozzle on back of tank can be turned on when you drive along, or you can spray with the hose & handle sprayer as you go. The hose is long enough to reach the seat of a lawn tractor or 4-wheeler.

  2. What type of battery is used for the pump?

    1. Any 12v volt auto or lawnmower battery will work.

  5. Could you use this to spray wood sealer on a fence?

    1. Yes, there is a handheld wand that could used. Great consistent stream, so now worries about clogging or losing stream power when in use.

    2. This sprayer is suitable for water based herbicides and pesticides, as well as non-flammable water based sealants or stains for outdoor wood surfaces.

  6. How do you winterize this sprayer?

    Just bought the sprayer. Unless I'm blind the manual doesn't mention any special prep for freezing temps. Is it good enough to just run the pump dry for a few seconds or do you have to blow it out or pump antifreeze through it?

    1. I use rv antifreeze in tank.

    2. On page 42 of the manual is the information for storage. When not in use, store the sprayer indoors. For long term or winter storage, prepare the sprayer by running RV antifreeze through the system. This will keep internal parts lubricated, protect against corrosion, and keep the unit from freezing.

  7. Why does the manual only refer to pesticides and not herbicides? Is it OK to spray weed control herbicides with this?

    1. I use it for weed control products and it works just fine. After completion I run just water through to clean out the pump and tank so it is clean and ready for the next use.

  8. Is it possible to change the nozzles?

    In particular, the broadcast nozzle for those applications that require greater than 1.18 gpm.

    1. just go slower if you need more product on your yard, no need to change nozzle. It is all threaded though so yes you could change, but not really necessary, just slow down some.

    2. Northern Tool cannot recommend or advise on making modifications (including changing nozzle size/type) to this sprayer. Modifications will void the manufacturer's warranty.

  9. Will sprayer work for fruit trees?

    I have some citrus trees in my yard some around 20 feet high. How high will this sprayer shoot? Thanks

    1. This sprayer is capable of spraying up to 12' vertically. Please see our item #282805 for a towable tree sprayer that has a 30' vertical spray height.

  10. Flow rates thru nozzles

    The info on the website says the flow rate is 1 gpm, but that is the max flow of the pump with no restriction or backpressure. Has anyone measured the actual flow out of each nozzle (on the wand and the broadcast nozzle)?

    1. No I have not measured flow.It will spray 6 gal in about 10-15 minutes.There is no way to adjust flow.Its either on or off.Hope this helps.

    2. The actual flow rate is 1.18 gpm for the broadcast nozzle and 0.5-1.08 gpm for the wand nozzle.
