If you buy two sets of the "Stair-style" kit you will have 4 corners that are almost 2' high. You can reconfigure those corners into a taller bed. The side pieces bolt into the corners and are stacked. There is a tight seam between my side panels on my tall bed. You will also be left with (4) almost 1' high corners from those kits that you can use to make other beds. I've bought several kits and reconfigured to make them work best in my garden. My tall bed 6x3 using 6' parts from other kits for the side panels.

Is there a way you could stack 2 of these planters so that you would have a bed approx 2ft deep? Could you secure them together somehow?

These raised planters are not designed for stacking. You could add a base layer of bricks, landscape pavers or timbers to increase the planting depth.

I’m looking for a long skinny planter box. Could this be put together with straight sides?
-
Megara· 5 years ago
Yes, the parts are easy to reconfigure into the size and shape bed you need. I've bought several sets, including the one that is "stair-style". I used the two tall corners (x2 beds so I would have 4 corners) on the stair-style to make a single bed that is almost 2' deep. With this one I took the narrow ends to make long narrow beds to fit in a particular place. The corner pieces for the "inside" corner on this model is exactly the same as the regular outside corners - just flipped inside with the panels attaching on the "back." To figure out which and how many beds I need, I make a list of the parts including how many corners in each kit. This one gives you 6 corner pieces. Buying two sets will make 3 rectangular beds. I hope this is clear.

The panel lengths of this planter box would not allow for reconfiguration into a long rectangular box. We do offer the oval planter bed, item 73389, which would be a better option.

Hi! What is the thickness or gauge of the metal in the "L"-shaped planter? Thank you. Also, does it require a liner?
-

After our first purchase of these raised bed, I put them in the garden without landscape cloth, and regretted it. The bind weed and crab grass worked their way to the top in no time. The second and third time I purchased, I put in commercial grade landscape cloth (not plastic), and it made a huge difference. I ended up taking all the soil out of the first raised bed (4'x12') and putting in the landscape cloth. They have been great. I purchased the first one in 2016, and other than some rust, it's held up pretty well.

The panels are 0.70mm thick and the corner pieces are 1.0mm thick. A liner is not required. A ground cover may used such as our item #77202 to help prevent weed growth from the ground.

Can this be built/conformed any way I want to make it. Meaning if against a stone wall could i use the part of the pieces to extend it further along in a line instead of making it a closed L since the wall could act as the back stop.
1 answer-
ProductExpert29· 5 years ago
This is designed to be built as an "L" shape. The corner pieces are made to give you a 90 degree angle at each corner. You would not be able to extend the sides further.
