This Ironton Air-Operated Oil Transfer Pump is designed to perform a quick transfer of oils from large drums to smaller containers. The double-acting pump delivers a discharge rate of up to 10.58 GPM that is ideal for use in industry, workshops, farms, construction or as part of a mobile oil system. 1:1 gear ratio. For use with oils featuring a viscosity of up to SAE 80 for transferring over short distances (up to 16ft.). Fits drum sizes up to 55 gallons. Air inlet connection: 1/4in. F-NPT; pump outlet connection: 1/2in. F-NPT; pump inlet connection: 1in. F-NPT.

    1. This pump requires approximately 9.5 SCFM of compressed air under standard conditions.

  2. can the pressure be controlled for slow pouring? how much back pressure is build up between pours if air stays on?

    1. The pump functions efficiently with an air inlet pressure between 30–150 PSI (2–10 BAR). Lowering the inlet pressure will result in a reduced discharge rate. For precise control and consistent air pressure, we recommend using a filter regulator lubricator like item 48577.

      The back pressure corresponds to the amount of inlet pressure applied. However, the pump is designed to handle such pressure build-up safely, and it will not be damaged even if the air remains on.

  10. What is the outlet pressure at around 100 psi? And what is the difference between the gear ratios? (5:1, 3:1, 1:1) Does that affect the outlet pressure? Which would be better for pumping 75-90 gear oil?

    1. The pump ratio determines the multiplication factor between the air-input pressure of the air motor and the fluid-output pressure of the pump. For example, if the air-input pressure is 100 psi, this pump's ratio of 1:1 will yield a fluid-output pressure of 100 psi. This pump can be used to pump oil up to SAE 80.
