    1. No case, but the unit is in like new condition. Cases for this saw can be found all over for well under $50 too.

    10. This Husqvarna chain saw does not come with a case. Northern Tool has a case available, it would be item 190700 ( see below).

  2. What is reconditioned? Are these Fleet rental, or defective store returns

    Any type or warranty included in purchase price?

    1. This particular model had a defective chain break from the manufacturer. Northern Tool has been the authorized dealer for the reconditioned factory recalled models. Some may be from store returns, but the logging forums claim this is the best bang for your buck, considering most 50CC models are $579+. I am purchasing my 3rd one today, my other 2 still run great after 5+ years. Run Tru-Fuel only and drain fuel often.

    2. Don't know why the saws have been returned. Mine had previously held fuel and oil, but everything looked brand new. Mine started right up and I've had no problems with it.
      Reconditioned have a Manufacturer's Warranty of
      1 month parts / 1 month labor.

    3. I don't know where they come from but I can tell you, other than the R stamped on the bottom, the saw I received looks brand new and runs perfectly.

    5. My saw seemed new in every way but re-packaged in a simple box. I believe that they carry the same warrantee as a new one-but you might check on that. Judging from the excellent condition of the saw I got, these are mostly saws returned before ever being really used - for what reason I can't say, but there was no sign of previous use at all. Probably idiot/scam related in some way or some part needed replacement that caused the saw not to start originally. My saw started right up and runs very well. Chain saws are pretty simple machines really- if it starts easily and operates properly there probably aren't any "hidden problems" to worry about as a result of having bought "reconditioned". Just give it a good run through when you get it home. I personally couldn't be any happier that I saved over a hundred bucks compared to a "new" one - I can't see that I gave up anything at all to save the money.

    6. A reconditioned item is one that has been returned and then reconditioned to perform like new. The reason for the return is unknown and they do have a 30 day return/exchange warranty. (not gassed or oiled)

  3. Will this saw work for ripping a 30" diameter log in two passes?

    1. I am not sure what you mean by "ripping" but I cut a large oak tree that was bigger than 30" with this saw. Yea, I had to go from both sides, but it cut fine.

    5. The Husqvarna Rancher chain saw is capable of cutting a 30" diameter log in 2 passes. You would have to be in an experienced skill set as there is the possibility of the blade pinching and binding.

    1. Yes, a 16″ #435 chain and matching bar will work on the Husqvarna 450‑20 Reconditioned as long as the chain gauge is 0.050″
