    1. This engine is approximately 5.5 horsepower. The actual net power output is 5.5 HP (4.1 kW) @ 3,600 rpm, while the net torque 9.1 lb-ft (12.4 Nm) @ 2,500 rpm.

  2. Is it OK to operate this engine WITHOUT being hitched to a battery for awhile?

    am putting on a woodspliter, would like to use it for awhile untill i can spare time to setup a battery box

    1. You can run this engine with no battery connected.

    2. Yes, you can run this engine just fine with no battery connected. You should cover/protect the ends of the battery cables so they are in good condition when you do fit the battery. Make sure the battery is fully charged before being installed. -Robert@Honda

  4. There seams to be an end hole in the shaft. If so, what are the specifics, tap size, thread, and depth?

    1. This Honda Horizontal OHV Engine shaft is tapped to receive a M8 x 1.25 screw. This is 8mm in diameter at 1.25mm per thread. The depth is 23mm.
