The Hobart AirForce® 40i Plasma Cutter is an economical plasma cutting system for all conductive metals. With new XT series torches, new longer life XT consumables, and the newly added Pilot Arc Controller feature, you'll appreciate the enhanced performance. It can cut mild steel up to 7/8in. This portable unit features a lightweight, powerful inverter design and an ergonomic trigger safety, with more efficient air consumption and economically priced consumables. Plasma cutters cut faster and more precisely with a thinner kerf and less slag than cutting with oxy fuel. A smaller heat-affected zone also causes less warping. And you'll never have gas pressure settings, flame tuning, metal preheating, or gas cylinders or refills to worry about. Features Hobart’s 5/3/1 limited warranty protection.

    1. This is not designed to be used with a CNC, as it is not plug and play, however one could customize and tap into the trigger system.

  5. bottled gas or compressed air

    Can this unit be run on dry nitrogen or argon or other gas mix instead of compressed air??? Trying to keep it more portable away from the shop.

    1. This Hobart plasma cutter is designed to be run on clean, dry, compressed air. Using any type of gas instead of compressed air is not recommended.
