The Hobart AirForce® 27i Plasma Cutter With Multi-Voltage Plug is an economical plasma cutter system for all conductive metals. Inverter-based design and reliable technology pack a lot of performance into a very portable package. The AirForce 27i features a multi-voltage plug (MVP) that allows a user to connect to common 120V or 240V power receptacles. The XT series torch and long life XT tips and electrodes provide added performance to an already exceptional plasma cutter. Plasma cutters cut faster and more precisely with a thinner kerf and less slag than cutting with oxy fuel. A smaller heat-affected zone also causes less warping. And you'll never have gas pressure settings, flame tuning, metal preheating or gas cylinders or refills to worry about.

    1. This is a plasma cutter only and can be run on 120 volt or 230 volt.

    1. The plasma cutter will come with a built in water separator. It is recommended that an external water separator also be added as well to the plasma cutter for the cleanest driest air possible.

  6. Does the Hobart AirForce® 27i Plasma Cutter come with cutter drag shield item #48991, which fits the XT30R plasma torch? Or, do I need to order it separately.

    1. The drag shield needs to be purchased separately. Northern Tool no longer carries the drag shield.

    I'm having a 240v outlet and breaker wired in my garage. How many amp breaker should I have for this cutter? I was thinking a 50 amp but the plug that came with the cutter says 20 amp.

    1. The Hobart AirForce 27i plasma cutter includes a 10-ft. power cord with 5-15P (120V, 15 Amp) and 6-50P (240V, 50 Amp) MVP™ plugs. The 6-50P plug can be used with a 30 amp circuit breaker or larger.
