  1. Can the hours on this meter be set to what the existing hours are on my mower so that it’s accurate?

    1. This hour meter w/ tachometer would not be able to be set with existing hours. It is designed to reset to zero after the desired hours are reached.

  2. Where does wire attach?

    1. The wire is pulled through the meter from the bottom, and then the wire is placed in the dead end hole on the front of the meter. Directions can be found on the packaging of the unit, see photo #3.

  3. How long is the battery life good for and can you replace the battery

    1. The hour meter has a self-contained battery with a life cycle of 12 years. The battery is not replaceable.

    I'm not sure this item actually has a battery. It may be powered by the spark plug wire.

    1. This tachometer does have an internal 3 Volt lithium battery which powers only the LCD display. The tachometer itself is powered by wire.

    1. The wire on this unit is 3 feet long. The manufacturer does not recommend extending the wire.

    Will this hour meter with tachometer work correctly on a 2 cylinder engine?

    1. This tachometer will work with all gasoline powered small engines. Even though a 2 cycle engine has the oil mixed in with the gasoline, the product will work properly on a 2 cycle engine. It triggers by the spark plug wire.

    can i use to monitor yamaha 225 outboard four stroke engine.
