Is there a voltage adjustment knob? Not just hi- lo button
-
wavedrone· 5 years ago
Yes there is a voltage adjustment knob that goes from 1-10 with a smooth turn instead of clicks.Same for the wire speed so you can really fine tune everything. I've put this welder through its paces over the last several months with 3 different kinds of wire (Lincoln .035, Hobart .030, and INE .030). They all work, but weld differently and require the fine tuning you are inquiring about. The INE wire has worked best for me with this machine. I've really been surprised by how well it welds 2 3/8 in. drill stem. You are limited to 1 or 2 lb. spools, but for my fencing projects it hasn't been a problem.

There are two knobs on the welder. The top knob will be for the voltage adjustment. The bottom knob will be for the wire speed.

Will it run .030 wire?
I can't see why it wouldn't, but I noticed inside the lid the chart only shows settings for .035 wire. If you have this machine, does the drive wheel have grooves for both .030 and .035 wire? And are there settings listed in the manual for .030?
There's a *very* similar welder that comes in green that definitely has both, as well as a higher amperage rating (though I suspect both welders can do the same jobs)...

Says it will run on a standard 15a 120v plug. Assuming a full load, that works out to 1,800 watts. Is it safe to assume this welder could be used at full power with a Honda EU2000 generator? If only half power is needed, could it be run with a EU1000?
1 answer-
ProductExpert7· 5 years ago
An EU2000 would operate at 1600 rated watts, which may not be enough for this model. I would recommend item 100556 to provide enough power for this application.
