Yes, the exhaust fan can be connected to an on/off automated ventilation controller (such as a timer, thermostat, or humidity sensor), provided the controller is safely rated for the fan's electrical draw. You cannot use a variable speed controller (dimmer) on this explosion proof model. It can be installed in a 2 car garage, but at 620 CFM, it would be undersized for it. The fan is rated at approximately 55 to 60 decibels (DB).
