    1. The engine is recoil start only, it could not be converted to electric start.

    1. The crankshaft on this engine is drilled and tapped with a 3/8"-24 thread.

  3. Does this engine require or support connection to the engine run guard on the handle of most mowers that must be gripped to allow the engine to run?

    1. The engine can be installed on a mower. It is required by law that the mower engine be controlled by the grip of the handle to allow the engine to run.

  4. I have a functioning engine but I broke the pull cord. How much to replace just the cord?

    1. The engine does not have a primer bulb on it. The engine has an automatic choke.

  7. does the briggs & stratton 163cc need oil added to gas tank

    1. The engine is designed for a minimum 87 octane, clean, fresh, unleaded gasoline. Gasoline with up to 10% ethanol is acceptable. Do not mix oil in gasoline or modify the engine to run on alternate fuels.
