The compact overhead valve design runs cooler and cleaner, delivering more power, longer engine life and improved fuel economy. The crankshaft supported by ball bearings, dual element air cleaner, and lo-tone muffler make this engine a workhorse. This engine has fast fuel delivery for one-pull starts and smooth operation.

    will it also take electric start

    1. This engine is a recoil start only with no option to add electric start. This engine does not have a charging system.

  2. Can I turn the recoil rope unit from right to left

    Can I remove the recoil rope screws and turn the unit clock wise like the 1150 series is bolted up.If not I would have to stand on the wood splitter cylinder to crank it. It has a 7 hp B&S engine on it now and works perfect

  4. Does the exhaust or muffler extend past the mounting plate?

    I need to attach this to a large leaf blower/collector and many engine manufacturers have their muffler extend past the mounting plate which prevents me from attaching the blower housing to the engine.

    1. This engine would not be compatible with a leaf blower/collector as the exhaust/muffler extends past the mounting plate. Please view engine item 34546 as a suitable replacement.
