Product Summary

The Ashley Hearth Direct Vent LP Wall Heater with Venting is a space-saving unit that provides the perfect solution to zoned heating. It mounts to an exterior wall, and the adjustable vent assembly adjusts to fit walls from 4 1/2in.–10in. thick. For clean, comfortable heat when and where you want it, the gas flame is completely sealed inside, away from all contact with room air. Only clean, gentle heat, in continuous circulation, is delivered into the room. Windows and doors stay closed because no room air is used for combustion. All venting required to install is included. No electricity needed.

  1. Approximately how long will this unit run on one full 100 lb propane tank?

    1. Just depends on outside temp. This week we had a cold snap with temps at 0 and colder 100# lasted 7 days, bottle before that 100# lasted 3 weeks.

    2. This heater will use approximately 4.6 gallons of propane per day, or 0.19 gallons per hour, at 17,000 BTU's. A 100lb. propane tank can hold approximately 24 gallons of propane.

  2. Why do all the reviews say this heater is hard to light. Can this be overcome and can the pilot light be lit with a match?

    1. The pilot light is sealed in the housing and may not be lit manually.

    1. This heater is not designed for use with an external thermostat.

  4. What 2nd stage regulator recommended for the Ashley 17,000 but vented wall heater?

    1. The supply tank must have its own separate pressure regulator that can reduce the supply tank pressure down to a maximum of 14 inch water column pressure. The item number 25819 two stage regulator will work with this heater.

  5. Can this unit be mounted on an apartment wall whose outside wall is a garage?

    1. It can be mounted on the outside wall as long as the heater is exhausted to the outside and the clearance to combustibles is met. The heater cannot be vented into the garage.

    1. The heater could not be mounted on a stand. It would need to be mounted and vented to an outside wall with the included wall mount bracket.

    1. The heater needs to mounted and vented to an outside wall. It could be installed in a bathroom.

  8. Does this have a pilot, or does the piezo igniter light the flame every time the unit turns on?

    1. If the heater is ever turned off, the igniter will be used to re light the pilot.

  9. how does this distribute the heat. Is there a distribution blower?

    1. The heater does not have a blower. It just continuously circulates the heated air into the room.

  10. I would like to install this on a exterior cinder block wall. My blocks are 16W 8T 4D. The install manual requires a 11X11 square hole. Can I reduce this dimension to 8 x 8 so I can maintain the structural integrity of the blocks?

    1. The venting on this unit requires the square cut-out to be 11-1/4" x 11-1/4". It cannot be cut smaller.
