High Altitude Operation

CAUTION: Operating at an altitude of greater than 2000 feet (610 meters) may affect your engine's performance, fuel consumption, and emissions. To remain emissions compliant and improve engine performance at higher altitudes, a high-altitude kit is required. A high altitude kit includes a carburetor jet resized to help correct air / fuel mixture at altitude. To order a high altitude kit, or if you have additional questions, contact us at 1-866-442-2576. Please note, engines with the high-altitude kit installed operated at lower altitudes could cause severe engine damage and affect emissions compliance. When modified, a tag or decal should be added to the product stating that a high-altitude kit was installed and to remind you to re-service the carburetor (re-jet) when operating in lower altitude environments.

  4. Does this automaticle run the 220v if you just plug into it or is there a switch

    1. If the generator is being used as a backup power source, a power inlet box and transfer switch will be required. Please view item #63261 for a compatible transfer switch kit that includes a transfer switch, 10' generator cord and a 30 Amp power inlet box.

  7. How long will it run on 1 gallon of gas and on 1 gallon of LP gas?

    1. For gasoline, this generator will consume 1 liter/hour at no load, 1.526 liters/hour at 25% load, 1.994 liters/hour at 50% load, 2.469 liters/hour at 75% load and 3.516 liters/hour at full load.

      For LP, this generator will consume 0.8 kg/hour at no load, 1.3 kg/hour at 25% load, 1.8 kg/hour at 50% load, 2.4 kg/hour at 75% load and 2.9 kg/hour at full load.

  8. What is the size of the female flare nut on the LP gas hose where it connects to the generator?

    1. The fitting is 5/8" - 18 UNF (Unified National Fine Thread).

  9. # number of hours before failure? Is this one 500hr or the 250hr?

    1. The generator should not fail as long as it is properly maintained. Under long, continuous-run conditions, be prepared to check the engine oil level every time fuel is added. Also change the oil after the first 20 operating hours and at least every 100 operating hours after.
