  1. If the width of this is 72 inches, I presume the spikes are space approx 3 inches apart, in two rows of 23 (46 spikes total)? Are they, or can they be offset in one row to decrease the spacing to approx 1.5 inches?

    1. angle the drag so that the spikes are not alligned

    2. At 72″ wide with 46 fixed spikes in two rows spaced about 3″ apart, the Yard Tuff drag can’t be reconfigured to 1.5″ spacing, so you’ll need a chain-link or multi-row harrow for closer tine coverage.

  2. Would this be suitable for de-tumbleweeding my yard, followed by consistent upkeep by periodic (monthly) drag sessions?

    1. The Yard Tuff 6′ Spike Drag is ideal for leveling surfaces on a monthly basis. To begin, you should cut and remove any mature tumbleweeds, which can be effectively done using a disc harrow or a flail mower. The Field Tuff ATV Disk Harrow (Model ATV-DH) pairs well with this Spike Drag. You can purchase the Disk Harrow on our website under item 365393.

  3. What is the difference from this drag harrow and the ones with the tines?

    1. The Yard Tuff 6' Spike Drag is great for smoothing and leveling surfaces. In contrast, traditional tine drag harrows are better for loosening soil, breaking up clumps, and preparing seedbeds.
