  1. Can pegboards or plywood be installed with screws on the interior walls to hang tools and garden equipment?

    1. The manufacturer directly sells pegboard and shelving options. Otherwise you can fabricate framing and pegboard instead of drilling directly into the walls.

  2. is roof slanted so rain does't sit?

    1. The roof is flat, water will escape down the eaves on the side of the unit.

  3. Is the wood floor necessary? I’m planning on placing this on a concrete pad. How much inside height will I gain without it?

    1. You do not have to use the wood floor that comes with the building. It is shipped on the wood that is used for the flooring. You can install it on a concrete floor. The inside height with the wood floor is 78", you would not gain any height by using a concrete floor as the building needs to be even with the side flashing that comes with it. This would be attached to your concrete.

  4. Does the ground have to be level for this unit?

    I would be placing this unit in a backyard, on pavers, in a area let is not completely level.

    1. It is recommended that the storage container be installed on level ground. The door will not function properly if the container is not level.

  5. Are the parts managable to be person moved before assembled?

    Need to move it to my backyard about 175 feet from the garage. Can the parts be moved easily? How much does the biggest piece weigh befpre assembly? Is the assembly difficult?

    1. Panels would require more than one person to move. The roof weighs 163 pounds. The side panels weigh 65 pounds. Assembly instructions are included with the container. It will take approximately 2.5 hours to assemble with three people.

  6. How much of a snow load will this handle?

    I live in snow country. That 18 gauge steel roof will need to hold over two feet of snow and ice.

    1. This item is designed to be stacked up to 3 units high therefore the weight of the snow is no issue for this product. Removing the snow prior to spring would be recommended to prevent water getting inside of the unit.

  7. Do people use this as a tornado/hurricane shelter?

    Can it be locked from the inside vs outside if used as a tornado shelter? Or are there shelters in this price range that are better suited for a tornado/hurricane shelter?

    1. The shed is not designed to be unlocked form the inside and or modified to do so. The unit is very sturdy however this unit is not recommended to be used as a storm shelter. At this time Northern Tool does not offer units that can be used as storm shelters.

  8. What are the shipping dimensions. Average assembly time?

    1. The shipping dimensions are 88" Long x 42" Wide X 88" High. The manufacturer does not provide an estimated assembly time.

  9. Paint?

    Would I be able to paint this material? Has anyone had any success doing this? Thank you

    1. This product can be painted. The first step would be to put a coat of primer on it so that the paint will adhere. Once the primer is on and dry, it can be painted.

  10. How does the gutter system work and does it have a down spout?

    1. There is no down spout on the unit. The water will slide down the eaves on the side of the unit.
