  2. What is meant by the 4:1 Safety Factor? It is not mentioned in the products manual.

    1. The 4:1 safety factor refers to the breaking strength of the chain. For example if you are lifting 2000 pounds the chain would not break until you were lifting four times that weight which would be 8000 pounds.

  3. Can I leave a load hanging indefinitely from this hoist? I want to store my 500 lb. glider hanging in my hangar for storage.

    1. A hoist is not designed to be used to suspend a load in the air for extended or unattended periods. The load should be lifted with the hoist and secured by other means.
