  1. Should I charge battery before connecting to solar panel, or let panel charge it initially?

    1. The initial charge can be done from either a solar panel or AC powered battery charger.

  2. if i charge this battery in a bank with 100ah batterys will they all take there own rated charge

    1. This would not be recommended. Depending on the charger, it may start to over charge the smaller battery.

  3. how many times can I recharge this battery, how long will it last?

    1. As with most batteries, there is not a set number times the battery can be recharged or a set time period it will last. The manufacturer suggests changing the battery every 3 to 5 years and warrants the battery for a period of 3 months.

    1. This is a general purpose deep cycle AGM battery and is rated in Amp hours not cold cranking amps. The battery weighs approximately 30.2 pounds.

  5. 50 Amps @ 20 Hours vs. 50 AmpHours

    What is meant by 50 Amps @ 20 hours please? Does this mean that the 50 amp-hour spec will provide for an average current of 2.5 amperes over a 20 hour period? If so, your specification is confusing, and should instead say 50 amp-hours over 20 hours.

    1. Amp hour battery capacity: The capacity of a battery is measured in Amp-hours and is specified at a 20 hour rate.
      This means a battery with a 100ah capacity will operate at a discharge rate 5 Amps for 20 hours.
      {5a x 20 h =100ah}. If the battery is operated at a higher discharge rate , it will produce less than rated capacity. For example, a 100ah battery operated at a 10 hour rate [10a] will produce approximately 93ah. If this battery is operated at a 1 hour rate[100a], it will produce approximately 60ah capacity.

  6. What is the actual Ampage of this Battery

    We are looking for a the the bottom line ampage for this Battery.

    Can we safely assume this is 1000AMP's? Please advise.

    1. This battery bottom line is 50 amps. The capacity of a battery is measured in amp/hours and is specified at a 20 hour rate. This one is 50 amps at 20 hours.
