  1. Combining 6V batteries

    If I combine 2 of these for 12V, does it follow I will get 400amps?

    1. No, if you wire the two 6 VDC batteries in series, to double the voltage and produce 12 VDC, you will still have only 200 AH available as series wiring does not double the current capacity. If you wired in parallel you would double the capacity and theoritically have 400 AH available, but the voltage would remain at 6 VDC. (Ohm's Law cannot be repealed!).

    2. When connecting two 6 volt batteries in a series you would double the voltage to 12 volts, but would still only have 200 amps. When connecting the two 6 volt batteries in parallel you would double your amps to 400, but still only have 6 volts.
