  1. How do you measure to find out what size to order

    1. You will need to measure the inside diameter of the hub where the dust cap will fit. It is recommended to use a caliper or micrometer to measure as it needs to be measured in thousandths of inches.

    2. Use in inside micrometer. Mine were the standard 1.98 and fit perfect.

  2. How do you add grease?

    So, if you can pull the rubber plug/cover, do you just squirt grease in with a gun or slather it in with a putty knife? There's no grease zero involved, correct?

    1. There are no grease zerks on the dust caps. You will need to remove the rubber plug and repack your bearings with a grease gun or with a putty knife.

    2. When you remove the rubber cap it should reveal the zirc grease nipple installed in the end on the axel. Just use a grease gun and pump to fill the axel cavity and push the grease out through the bearings.

  3. Do these fit the hubs on your Ironton 5x8 trailer - item# 37552.

    1. The dust cap item number 135035 will not work with the trailer item number 37552. The replacement dust cap for the trailer is part number ITI37552-29.   4. How are the rubber plugs removed and re-installed when greasing the bearings? Thanks

    1. The rubber cap can simply just be pulled out. To reinstall, it is pushed back into the groove.
