  1. Are the bearings on the spindle and if so what is the rated speed? Can you replace the spindle with one that doesn't spin?

    1. The spindles on this torsion axle do not spin or have bearings. The bearings would be in the hub you attach. Please see our item numbers 57224, 572241, 57225, and 577251 for hubs that fit this torsion axle set.

  2. Would the spindle work for a standard wheel barrow tire?

    1. The spindle on this set is 1" diameter and requires a bearing bore diameter of 1-1/16". The length of the usable spindle is 3.38" long. As long as your wheel barrow tire/wheel assembly's bore diameter and hub width falls within these specs, it could work with this torsion axle.

  3. Will these work with your wheel and tire #12303?

    1. These stub torsion axles are not compatible with item# 12303, the wheel and tire assembly.

  4. Notice there is a castel nut on the axle. Can the axle be removed or replaced?

    1. The spindles are removable and replaceable.

  5. What is the static deflection at the design gross weight? Is there an internal deflection stop to prevent over-travel?

    1. The torsion arms do not have a deflection stop. Each axle has specified cord lengths and diameters to meet a certain weight rating and will not over travel if not over loaded.

  6. Will this hub fit a wheel with 2.95" pilot diameter?

    1. The spindle is 1 inch with 1 1/16in. inner bearings and 1 1/16in. outer bearings. The hub would need to fit with those measurements before determining if the hub will properly fit onto the 2.95" pilot diameter on the wheel.

  7. What is the spindle length? Is there a built-in grease fitting?

    1. The spindle length from end to end would be 8.18". The axles do include zerk grease fittings.

  8. What Hubs and Tires are appropriate for use with these axles?

    It would be great if you supplied links to products that can be used with these axle stubs.

    1. These Stub Torsion Axles are compatible with both item number 57224 and 57225. We have included links to each item. Also, we have included a link to item number 1214. That wheel is compatible with the 4 on 4" hub. A 5 on 4.5" wheel would be compatible with 57225.

  9. What size spindle are these and are they adjustable?

    1. These torsion axles have 1" spindles. The 2-1/2" length of travel is not adjustable.
