I do not have a bad back, but I am not extremely strong, and 62 years old. I can pick up any of the components with one hand. In fact, I leave the upright attached to the legs and struts, because together they are not so heavy, but they come apart very easily. Sorry, no scale available.

Are you able to easily disassemble for transport?
Are you able to disassemble and put in a truck? I want to be able to use to lift large generator into truck and then hook my camper up and take the lift with me. Then once on location unhook camper and reinstall lift to unload. Is that possible without having to break down into very small pieces?
-
robert9· 7 years ago
Yes, it easily disassembles. Although this crane is not light, it breaks down quickly and although long, it doesn't take up much space.

This unit does break down for transport. It features snapper pins on the main post and the legs for easy disassembly. It does not need to be broken down into small pieces to transport.

Can I drive with it
Can it be left in the hitch and driven? Do the legs fold up?
-
robert9· 7 years ago
Yes, Easy to do, the crane pins into place, is no wider than the width of the back of my truck. Legs fold up and pins into place. I traveled several days in this configuration with no problems. One word of caution however, be careful backing up. With the crane attached you are a foot or so. longer.

Before driving the vehicle that it is attached to, you must retract the winch cable completely, position the boom over the truck's wheel well and insert the post pin to prevent the boom from swiveling. Then fold the boom and tie it with a strap. You should also disconnect the T-shape connector from the truck and move it to the innermost area of the base then use a pin to fix its position on the rod. The legs can be extended or retracted.

Should be able to as long as you can figure out how to safely rig them for lifting!

This hitch-mount truck crane can be used to hoist small boulders off the ground that are under the weight capacity of the crane. When the boulder is in the air it can be moved into the vehicle.

how high above the truck bed does this raise
1 answer-
UltraTowExpert12· 7 months ago
Hitch heights can vary for each vehicle. The lift is measured from the top of the receiver hitch mount rather than from the truck bed. It has a lifting range of 22" - 79".

How gentle is this crane when lowering its load? Does the hydraulic component just crank backwards in reverse?
1 answer-
UltraTowExpert12· 3 years ago
Lowering the load is smooth. To lower the load, use the jack handle to release the jack valve. An illustration of this can be found on page 10 of the Product Manual located on the product web page.
