  1. Does this dolly allow you to push a trailer as well as pull?

    Looks like the handles do not lock to allow you push.

    1. The dolly can be used for both pushing or pulling. The handles will lock into place.

    2. There are spring loaded pins that lock the handles when extended. I would think that you would just have to make sure the pins securely engage in the locking holes of the two handles.

    3. Yes, you can push and pull this dolly. There are pins under the handle that lock the handles in position.

  2. can you put a 2 5/16 ball on it?

    1. The dolly can be used with a 2-5/16" hitch ball with a 3/4" shank diameter.

    2. This dolly can be used with a 2-5/16" hitch ball with a 3/4" shank diameter. At this time, Northern Tool + Equipment does not carry one that size with the correct diameter shank.

  3. Can a 2 in. ball be used on this product & can it come with a 2 inch. ball when ordered?

    1. A 2" ball with a 3/4" shank item number 32718 can be purchased separately. Installation is required.

    2. The hitch ball on this dolly can be changed, however the dolly cannot be customized prior to shipment. Please see item #32718 for a ball with a 3/4" shank that will fit this.

  4. Does this come with a pin to secure to tow vehicle?

    1. The pin and safety clip are not included. It will use a 5/8" hitch pin and matching R-shaped safety clip.

  5. What is the spacing between the 2 tabs that would attach to the towing vehicle? In other words would it attach to a hitch without the ball installed?

    1. The towing tabs are 1" apart. This dolly could attach via a pin hitch.

  6. Can I put a kayak on this cart and tow it on a bike?

    1. This trailer dolly is not designed to carry a kayak; however, it would help move a kayak trailer. It is not designed to be towed.

  7. Release pin for support leg broke. Can I get a replacement pin?

  8. What is the load rating of the tires?  Why does it only have a 600lbs pull rating? Is it the metal, welds or fasteners that are the weak link?

    1. Each tire can handle a load of 300 lbs. for a combined total of 600 lbs. The design of the trailer dictates the capacity of the trailer dolly.

  9. What is the 17 “ height ? From the ground to the TOP of the ball or to the BOTTOM of the ball ?

  10. Are the wheels wide enough to work in sand with a boat trailer launching and recovering the boat? Boat and trailer combined weight of maybe 500lbs.

    1. This trailer dolly is designed for use on flat and level surfaces. It is not recommended for use in sand and water for launching and recovering a boat.
