  1. Will thid engine fit a Snapper Comet riding mower?

    1. Northern Tool does not have a engine cross reference guide. To order a replacement engine, you'll need to match up the engine displacement (cc), shaft size, mounting base, and bolt hole circle. Match up all available specs possible. This engine has 8hp (318 cc), 1 x 2 7/8 shaft, 3 1/8 x 6 3/8 mounting base, and a 3 5/8 bolt hole circle.

  2. is there only one output shaft?

    my snowblower has 2 output shafts, 1 runs in the opposite direction at half speed. sears 536.885910 I need to find the appropriate engine before winter... thank you.

    1. This engine does not feature an auxiliary pto shaft. We currently offer only one engine that has the auxiliary pto. The item number is 60550 See link below for more details. Before ordering be sure to check the shaft dimensions on the engine that your are replacing.

  3. Does this engine come with a muffler installed?

    Features + Benefits says exhaust manifold not included but spec says it has a muffler. Maybe that means the muffler attaches directly to the engine???

    1. This engine includes the muffler. This engine does not have a exhaust manifold, muffler mounts direct.

  4. Does this HM-80 Tecumseh engine have a power cord to run a light?

    My old HM-80 motor has a wire with a plug on it that you can plug a light into. I did not see anything on the picture or literature that said it has a built in power cord to run a light?

    1. This engine does not have a cord that could be used to plug in a light.
