  1. Will this run an older Troybuilt "Horse" tiller?

    The current engine was an HM-80, but it failed when the piston rod broke.

    1. if this is being considered for an older Troybilt tiller, (1980-1990 horse).....it doesnt matter if it has a reverse shaft. The reverse pulley on these models is atually tied into your belt pulley(ies). As long as it will accept the pulley inner bore for it to bolt to the engine, bolt pattern, you should be good to go. I have one with a 6hp Tecumseh that is original on the tiller, Im almost afraid to put 10hp behind it. 6hp is a beast on these tillers!

    2. You would need to pull your engine and be sure the shaft size would match the specifications listed here for this engine, as far as shaft size and bolt circle.

      This engine does not have the reverse shaft if your tiller has the reverse option.

  2. What is the best Hydraulic Pump Mounting Bracket for Tecumseh Horizontal Engine - 10 HP and Haldex Hydraulic Pump — 11 GPM (Item #1012)?

    In order not to damage the pump and looking at rotation directions of the Tecumseh Horizontal Engine - 10 HP (Counerclockwise) and Haldex Hydraulic Pump — 11 GPM (Item #1012) (Clockwise), is it appropriate?

    1. Use item number 3034. (measure your bolt hole circle on your engine, this bracket will fit if your engine bolt hole circle is 7 3/4). See my recommendation below.

  3. Can I add an 18 amp alternator to this Tecumseh HM100-159486V engine?

    With having electronic ignition I didn't know if the motor was equipt with an external magneto? My goal is to also run a 12 volt light using this motor.

    1. The engine does have an external magneto but it will need a different flywheel for adding an 18 amp alternator to the engine.
