The SunStar Heating Products Ceramic Heater is ideal for spot heating or area heating of remote locations, farm buildings, shops, service areas, pump houses or other hard-to-heat spaces, providing both fuel efficiency of radiant heat and installation flexibility (not recommended for car washes). This is an energy-saving Direct Spark Ignition heater and can be controlled by a line voltage or 24V thermostat (sold separately). May require the following second stage regulators prior to the heater based on gas supply pressure: A regulator up to 2 PSIG line pressure or a regulator above 2 PSIG line pressure (both sold separately). NOT CERTIFIED OR APPROVED FOR RESIDENTIAL USE. Indoor use only. U.S.A.

NOTE: Please review the detailed Installation Operating Instructions (attached) for other specific installation requirements (gas pressure, ventilation etc.) prior to purchasing the heater.

    1. To determine the correct heater size for your space, please use the following formula:

      How large is the area being heated in cubic feet? Calculate area dimensions (Length x Width x Height) = Total Cubic Feet

      What is the desired temperature increase to be gained by the heater? Calculate (Desired temperature(with Heater) - Area temperature(without heater)) = Desired Temperature Increase

      Calculate the BTU's required to achieve desired temperature. Calculate ((Total Cubic Feet x .133) x Desired Temperature Increase) = BTU's Required

  2. I've seen this type of heater mounted at 45 degree angle, this one calls for no more than 35 degrees, can it be angled more than 35?

    1. While there is not an official efficiency rating for radiant heat heaters, this heater is would be very effective in the 1,000–3,000 square footage range.

  6. WILL THIS HEATER OPERATE ON THE GAS PRESSURE DELIVERED TO HOMES

    1. We recommend consulting the local gas company to ensure the proper pressure is delivered to the heater. The minimum supply pressure required for this heater is 7" water column (W.C.) and the maximum supply pressure is 14" W.C. If the incoming pressure is higher than the maximum, a regulator is required.

    1. The heater is designed for natural gas only. There is not an LP version of the 80,000 BTU available. The LP versions available will be model SG6-L (item number 16298) 65,000 BTU or the model number SG10-L (item number 16307) 100,000 BTU.

  9. What are the dimensions and is the pilot light lit all of the time or is it electronic? Does wind effect the Pilot light?

    1. The SunStar Ceramic Heater is 31 inches long by 28 inches wide by 11 inches high. It features a direct spark ignition system not a pilot light and will operate in windy conditions.
