  1. Does it come configured with the double line or just the single, and would I have to purchase an additional line if I want it that way?

    1. It comes with a single cable but there are 2 hooks on the cable. This gives you the option to connect one of the hooks onto the come-along and then the cable forms a loop with the second hook in the loop so it acts like a double line. This gives you several options for how to set it up for any given project.

    2. It's a single line, but it goes around a pulley and doubles back to gain more pulling power. You wouldn't want to add another line.

    3. It can be used single or double. It has the hooks for both.

    4. This cable puller comes with a single line that is doubled up when the hook at the end of the line is attached back to the cable puller. The picture shows it set up for double line pulling. When you are single line pulling, the pulley block (third hook in the picture) is not used.

  2. Is it easily reversible? / Can you flip a switch and crank tension back down?

    1. Yes. This is one of the short-comings of some come-alongs and ratchet straps but this come-along makes it easy to release the tension and crank the cable back in.

    2. There is no reverse, you have to relieve tension by working the stop pawl and drive pawl to use the handle to unwind the spool. You usually have to repeat the process a couple of times to get enough slack that you can hold the release levers to free the spool. Kind of hard to explain but it is not a simple flip a switch and crank the other way operation.

    3. The cable puller is not reversible. To release the tension you would disengage the ratchet drive by pushing the drive pawl spring into the up position. This would disengage the main ratchet drive and will loosen the cable.
