  1. can a drill chisel be used with this press?

    1. This drill press is too small to use with a drill chisel. Please see the 1 HP option, item 426423, this will work with a drill chisel.

  2. Picture shows a stand, specs say no stand. Which is it?

    8 1/2" drill press. Key Specs-stand include? No. Picture shows stand. How do you support the drill and motor without a stand?

    1. Has the stand as pictured. recommend bolting base to bench to keep press from flipping over if you were drilling and bit seized in work piece.

    2. The Shop Fox Oscillating Drill Press Model #W1667 does not have radial arm (photo error that is being corrected). Shop Fox Model #W1669 which is Northern Tool Item #49563 is a radial arm Drill Press.

  4. How does the chuck attach and secure to the spindle? Is it just a press on by purchaser or is it mechanically attached?

    1. Thank you for your question. The chuck is fastened in place using an M5-.8 x 20 cap screw that threads into the spindle.

    1. We appreciate your inquiry. The drill press lacks the necessary sturdiness to withstand the force required for making a mortise. There is a high risk of damaging or breaking the pinion shaft or the handle shafts while attempting to do so.
