Will this drill press be stable on the Super Heavy Duty Mobile Base by Shop Fox?

We appreciate your question. The M1039 Floor Drill Press would be stable on the Shop Fox mobile bases; however, we suggest a few modifications for added stability. First, consider making the base slightly more square. Additionally, placing plywood in the base and securing the machine to it will help improve stability. Lastly, when moving the machine, avoid doing so quickly and always grab it by the middle, preferably at the column, for better control.

Do the slots on the table go through the table to enable the drill press clamp sold by Grizzly? If not, what clamps are recommended?

We appreciate your question. The M1039 features t-slot tracks instead of through holes. The G1076 Clamping Kit is compatible with the floor drill press.

Does this Drill Press spin "true"?
Many presses cannot easily hit a center punch mark in metal. If one puts the smallest drill bit in the chuck, is there any discernible run-out (spinning off axis or out of round)?

This Shop Fox drill press can have between 8-10,000th run out as part of the tolerance which is part of the factory specifications. This does give the hole a wobbly or triangular shape to it.
