This Shelterlogic is a part of the Original Shelters series of portable car shelters and is a pretty descent quality for the money. If you live in a heavy snow are this garage shelter may not withstand the elements though. Even though it is not snow/wind rated it will withstand some light snow but nothing heavy...The quality is okay but not like some of the heavier portable shelters on the market. But do remember, the price isn't high like the other shelters either. The manufacturer shelterlogic originalshelters.com recommends a snow load at under 5 psf and that's about the limit. If you need a good quality portable garage shelter and at a low price, than this is the garage kit to consider.

How well does this hold snow?
I live in New England and want to make sure this garage will not cave in when it snows.

WE HAD MANY FEET OF SNOW THIS YEAR AND I CAN SAY THAT THIS PRODUCT DID NOT CAVE IN, PRIMARILY BECAUSE OF THE WAY IT IS CONTSTRUCTED. HOWEVER, I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU KNOCK OFF THE SNOW AFTER EACH STORM. I AM SURE THERE IS A LIMIT AS TO HOW MUCH THIS CAN HOLD. BUT UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS THIS SHOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM.

whats the difference between the gray cover and the tan one.
-
ShelterLogicSupport· 12 years ago
Shelterlogic's Tan Autoshelter has a 5.5 oz polyethylene cover. Shelterlogic offers many different color options and weights of materials. If you are comparing this to the grey Garage in a Box (model 62790) that material is a 7.5 oz polyethylene. Both of these products come with a 1 year limited warranty.

Is there an exit door?
Do both ends of the instant garage allow access so i can drive my vehicle straight through ?
-
OriginalShelters· 12 years ago
Unfortunately there is not. The rear panel is a solid with no zippers. The front door is zippered for drive in though. For this size it's not that important though. There are other garage in a box original shelters in other sizes but I do not believe they have a zippered panel or rear.
Another great benefit of garage in a box original shelters come with the patented ratchets. That's the key to these shelters by allowing the cover to remain drum tight. I particularity like this shelter size and color. It's really compact and blends well with the landscape. The manufacturer shelterlogic originalshelters.com gives specific's on how many ratchets are included in their product spec sheet.

The back panel on the instant garage is solid. There would only be one opening at the front. The rest of the garage would all be enclosed.

how can i affix this to concrete? are their tabs, grommet holes?
-
OriginalShelters· 12 years ago
The garage in a box original shelters series have bent frame poles at the bottom that allow you to afix to concrete if desired.
That's the beauty of these ShelterLogic originalshelters® by allowing the cover to remain drum tight and allowing anchoring to the driveway pad or concrete slab. I particularity like this shelter size and color. It's really compact and blends well with the landscape. The manufacturer Shelterlogic garage in a originalshelters.com gives further details on how to anchor in concrete in their product spec sheet. If I am not mistaken there are four main legs, one for each corner of the original shelter garage in a box.
