  1. After connecting the positive and negative clamps to the battery, and plugging the unit in, both curved lights show green. If I press the “Start” button, the right light shows yellow. Does the double green light mean my battery is fully charged?

    1. The power green LED light indicates that the charger is connected to an active AC power outlet. The charged/maintaining solid green light signifies that the battery has reached a full charge and the charger has automatically switched to maintenance mode.

  2. Can I jump start with this battery charger

    1. You would not be able to jump start a vehicle with this battery charger. It is a battery charger and maintainer for slowly recharging a battery.

  3. Does it come already charged?

    1. The Schumacher SC1339 does not come pre-charged. It is neutrally powered by default and only begins supplying charge once it is connected to a battery and powered on.

  4. What if the frown face (red) lights up ?

    1. When the frown face lights up the charger is in desulfation mode. Continue charging the battery for several hours and if not successful, have the battery checked.

  5. Will the yellow light go off when battery is fully charged ?

    1. The light should go from yellow to green when it is fully charged.

  6. Can you use this charger for deep cycle marine batteries  for boat trolling motor batteries.

    1. If your deep cycle marine battery shows it is a 12 volt AGM battery, this charger can be used to charge it. It will charge lead acid STD and AGM batteries.

  7. does meter show amount of charge

    1. The yellow LED light is lit when the battery is charging. The green LED light is lit when the battery is fully charged and the charger is in maintain mode. It does not have a meter showing the amount of charge.

  8. My car is parked outside and does not have access to an electrical outlet. Does the battery charger have to be plugged in in order to charge my car battery?

    1. The battery charger will plug into a standard 120 volt AC outlet.

    1. This battery charger can be used to charge 12V standard lead acid or AGM motorcycle batteries.

    1. The model number SC1399 will not charge GEL batteries. The charger is designed to charge lead acid STD and AGM rechargeable batteries.
